HAIL MODULE

 

Several hail data sets are available in South Africa. The quality of information varies significantly between these data sets. For some hailstorm event variables a lot of information exists but for others very little or none are available. Xtreme Loss Solutions has developed a hail methodology tailored like a glove around the quality and availability of South African hail data.

 

The methodology uses a combination of the Kijko-Sellevoll mathematics of incompleteness and uncertainty in combination with copulas to deal with correlations, thus extracting the maximum meaning from the information available. The Hail model has a new scenario tester which improves on our previous mapping technology allowing for satellite maps (let the client see his own farm before you simulate a hailstorm on it) and conventional road maps (choose the road to be hit with the storm) and see how the client's motor exposures are affected.
