Adi Hazan – CTO

Adi Hazan is a software specialist working from Pretoria. Adi is an auto-didact who sold his first commercial software at the age of 13, giving him 23 years of experience in the industry. Adi does specialist programming in various fields including wireless systems, fingerprint recognition, financial reporting and GIS. His company, INNtegrator Systems, solves software problems for numerous companies locally and abroad. He is married to Alla and father of Logan.

Prof. Andrzej Kijko

While not formally a member of the XLS team, Prof Kijko is our spiritual father. Prof. is the inventor of the ubiquitous "Kijko-Sellevoll" methodology which is a mathematical tool to analyze natural hazards in cases when data are both incomplete and uncertain. XLS software is based directly on Prof Kijko's papers which are in the public domain. Our earthquake model has passed a peer review under Prof. Kijko when he was still at the Council for Geoscience, South Africa. Prof. Kijko is now the head of the Natural Hazard Centre at Pretoria University.

Riaan Botes - Actuary & CEO

Riaan Botes has 13 years of experience in Reinsurance. He has been a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries since December 2003 and has various related degrees. Riaan has worked in Insurance at AIG and Reinsurance at Hannover Re, Guy Carpenter and Aon Re. It was Riaan who had the original vision to create XLS and he is currently the head of Aon Re Services Africa. He is married to Heidi and father of Inge and Ruan.
